Wood is Amazing - Latest Material Find

Picked up this hunk of wood from a follower after last years Spring show.  Looked like it might be a good one, didn't appear to have rot, or too many deep cracks we stored it away.

Looks a lot like firewood, chainsaw marks and all.  First step, a cut to try and figure out what it is and begin to get it into usable form.

Walnut, not sure i would have guessed that one!
